Fruit/vegetable comparison (according to thebump.com): Sweet Potato
Total weight gain: Still not sure - will look at the scale very hesitantly.
Sleep: Sleep is going good - there are a more than a few times I get up to go pee or just catch myself sleeping on my back.
Movement: Nothing yet - at least that I can tell...I was told that it might seem like gas, which is always pleasant to think of.
Unglamorous body changes: Nothing too bad. I feel like I'm popping out like crazy, but only after I really eat.
Maternity clothes: Rocking the maternity jeans. I think I might need some more - mainly because I wear the pairs a lot - which they tend to give me saggy butt syndrom at the end of the day.
Showing: Yes - this baby is bumping like crazy.
Food cravings: Nothing lately. I found that I've been super thirsty at certain times of the day. Water is my friend.
What I miss: Currently? Sushi. Probably because I've been seeing it on TV.
Anything making you queasy: Nothing so far. Which is great - I don't miss the queasy feeling.
Strange experiences: Working out with a belly. It's been great to still attend my Fusion classes, but it's been funny to modify everything.
Milestones: The babe is yawning, hiccuping, rolling and punching like crazy. And apparently making me very hungry - which is true. Any food that can get in my belly is fabulous.
Best moment this week: Hearing my dad tell me that my ponsa (tummy) was getting bigger. He even rubbed it. I don't think my dad has rubbed my ponsa since I was a baby....and only he can get away with it now that there is a babe in there.
Looking forward to: Finding out if Baby G is a boy or girl! It's been funny to hear everyone's predictions.
My good luck with not getting sick this cold and flu season ran out on Monday. Sure enough, after eating lunch on Monday, something was a little off, at first I thought I just ate too much - one too many slices of pizza or too much sugar from the weekend. Not so much. I met my friend the toilet around 11 that night and we decided to have an all night rager. Sorry. TMI?
I'm becoming a mother soon, so i better be used to talking about bodily functions.
I haven't seen our downstairs since Monday around 5:30, Tony has gone to Walgeen's at least four times getting me what I am needing or craving. Needing: pedialyte. Wanting: Popsicles and currently Sonic ice.
He's also been wiping down any surface I may have touched with antibacterial wipes. Im not going to be surprised if he comes home wearing a mask. But then again, he's been sick twice this season while I have been able to avoid it.
Lets hope this thing passes quickly. I'm tired of being sequestered upstairs and I'm pretty sure this babe needs more than just pedialyte and Popsicles.
Now I have to stop using the iPad before tony sees. He will wipe it down and I don't know if that is good for electronics.
Fruit/vegetable comparison (according to thebump.com): Onion - which I love onions.
Total weight gain: Will probably find out at our 20 week appt. Maybe I will focus this time.
Sleep: Still great. There is nothing better than a snoogle...well for sleeping at least.
Movement: Nothing yet - but apparently I should be feeling them soon. I catch myself lying really still and almost holding my breath...I probably shouldn't hold my breath for too long.
Unglamorous body changes: So far, it's not been too bad. My hair is ridiculously long, so maybe I should work on making an appointment.
Maternity clothes: Oh yes. These new pants are great. I can still get away with wearing my regular jeans with a belly band - but my thighs have grown as well as my belly, so they might be going away soon. Tear.
Showing: Yes - especially toward the evening. I can still look like I'm sporting a muffin top in the morning.
Food cravings: Same things - I've not been chugging chocolate milk as much as I did in the beginning. But give me chips and I'm one happy lady.
What I miss: This week, I missed a glass of wine. Not because I was out with friends - but because it seemed like a nice relaxing way to just hang out at home. And not a whole glass, just a small one. Don't worry - I'm still refraining.
Anything making you queasy: Good to go. I have had some times in the evening where I get a little nauseous, but nothing too bad.
Strange experiences: None this week...thank goodness.
Milestones: The babe is getting a larger, thicket umbilical cord. I'm one proud mamma.
Best moment this week: Working to get the house back up on the market. Yep - we're going to go after it again. Hopefully this time, someone will fall in love with our little casa. And probably hearing hilarious birth stories while playing Bunco. Yes, bunco.
Looking forward to: Finding out the sex! Yes - knowing that we can find out whether Baby G is a boy or girl is very exciting. We even planned to do a reveal party with our families the Saturday after. So yes...we're going to keep it a secret for three whole days.
So I thought I would be really on top of weekly updates - silly me. So I'll try and catch up here - while I sit upstairs since its warmer and write while eating graham crackers, well I already ate them, so I'll just wipe the crumbs off my ever-growing stomach.
How far along: 16 weeks
Fruit/vegetable comparison (according to thebump.com): Avocado - fitting
Total weight gain: Haven't paid attention, but my workout clothes still fit!
Sleep: Good - well minus the potty breaks. And sometimes if I'm really lucky and don't chug water before I fall asleep, I can make it almost until my alarm goes off. Surprisingly, I get up rather quickly...well some mornings, others are a little more difficult.
Movement: Not feeling anything yet.
Unglamorous body changes: Acne is still present. I think my face plays a trick on me - every time I think its getting better a new little spot shows up. It's like the never ending pizza face. Thank goodness for bangs and scarves.
Maternity clothes: Wore my first maternity pants this week. It was for a work event, and because Tyson had snotted and dog-haired my other black pants, it was time to break them out. And yes....the hype is true - holy amount of comfort. But for all of those moms wondering, I had just the small waist band, and it was glorious.
Showing: Baby is a bumpin. I'm thinking that it was because I ate late when I took my picture and the horizontal stripes didn't do me any favors, but wow.
Food cravings: Still nothing crazy. Chocolate milk and cheese - two things I know I'll have to give up once this baby comes...while it may be good for the babe, it is not good for my thighs.
What I miss: Turkey sandwiches. What I wouldn't give to stop by Subway, Jimmy John's or Goodcents to grab a turkey with all the fixings. Courtney - beware, you will be getting my sandwich order on the day of delivery. And I may hold the babe hostage until I get that turkey!
Anything making you queasy: So far, so good. Sometimes the trash stinks, but that's normal. I think the wave of nausea is almost over - every once in a while now.
Strange experiences: Sharing the news in person - well and getting strange looks during Fusion for not participating or taking breaks.
Milestones: Baby G is growing eyelashes, eye brows and can now hear our voices. I better work on making mine not so squeaky.
Best moment this week: Since this is a week or two late, I'm trying to remember, but I'll still go with hearing the heart beat - since it was at my 16 week appointment.
Looking forward to: Finding out the sex in four short weeks. When we made our next doctors appointment, it was also to find out the sex! Crazy! It's going so fast!
I had contemplated long and hard about whether or not to do baby bump updates. And after thinking about it - I figure maybe it would be nice just to have documentation just for me. At least for us to look back and realize, huh, I could still see my feet at week whatever. So, here we go - I've missed a few weeks, since I was still thinking about it - and well, I kept forgetting and falling asleep early.
How far along: 15 weeks
Fruit/vegetable comparison (according to thebump.com): Navel orange Total weight gain: Forgot to look - and probably not going to record this for the world to see...my doctor said I was just perfect. So we'll go with that!
Sleep: Okay so far - rough night the other night with Tony being sick and sawing some serious logs. But I'm now obsessed with my new Snoogle - best invention ever. Movement: Nothing yet - patiently waiting to feel the first little kicks. Unglamorous body changes: Well I'm back to my teenage years with a ridiculous amount of acne. I think there are days that I could be the perfect model for Proactiv. Seriously. Thank goodness for bangs. Some other lovely things: a growing chest size to match my growing thighs and behind. Clothes have been fun lately.
Maternity clothes: Not yet- but I am rocking the belly band. I have a feeling maternity pants are right around the corner. Showing: A little bit - mainly in the evening after a full day of eating. Food cravings: Nothing too much - I still like having an apple a day. And I can't get enough chocolate milk. I try and limit myself to one glass a day - but man, that stuff is delicious!
What I miss: Nothing yet. Alcohol hasn't sounded good at all - so that's good. Although I do miss being able to walk up the stairs without being winded.
Anything making you queasy: Luckily - nothing too much. Food hasn't really grossed me out, but sometimes the trash makes me gag. But it is trash. There was a lady at work before I left for vacation that wore some pretty strong perfume - that was pretty much the only thing that made me want to run away, quickly.
Strange experiences: Weird dreams - some that I don't even want to remember. But nothing too odd.
Milestones: The babe is still growing and all four limbs have functioning joints. Yay for joints!
Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat at the doctors office. It was pretty quick - but that's a sound that will take your breath away.
Looking forward to: Showing all the way. I'm ready for this bump to look like a baby bump and not like I just ate too many Christmas cookies.
And now for some bump pictures. I have my 12, 14, and 15 week picture. I forgot to take my 13th week and well there were only a couple of days between my 14 and 15 week pictures.
Well I supposed since it's officially Facebook approved, I should get back to blogging about our little secret. And maybe go into more info that people are asking about - like is it a girl? Still don't know that answer quite yet.
But yes, Tony and I have kept a little secret for a few months....we're having a Baby Meatball come June 2013. We couldn't be more excited and having the secret out is so much fun - especially since it would explain why we have been hiding from friends for so long.
We're very excited and I think still in shock - I think both of us thought it would happen eventually, but maybe not as quick as it did - plus Tony was half asleep when I told him, so the information that set in that morning was taken in a little slower.
But back to the beginning - we found out back in October....during one of our busiest months. Between the two of us, we had work events, travel, and what felt like a million other things happening at once. Little did we know that my absentmindedness and feeling tired all the time was due to a little bean growing inside. I had just gotten back from a work event out of town and Tony was coming in late Saturday night from being at a convention out of town, as well. See...busy!
That next morning I just had a feeling - but I didn't want to get my hopes up and then be disappointed...so I just snuck into the bathroom early. And started shaking...at first I couldn't believe it, but it was there. A positive sign that we were going to have a baby. Now, I know you're probably all expecting a picture of a pregnancy test on here - but in my opinion that is gross. Sorry - I'm Judy Judger over here - but if you have to post something that you pee on social media, then you are sharing too much.
But I digress. I woke up Tony with a romantic, "Ugh, I'm pregnant." It was a sweet and sentimental moment that we'll always remember. I'm so graceful like that! Of course, we couldn't celebrate for too long - we had to get out of the house since we had a showing. It's just our little life - always looking like a movie.
We held in the news for a s long as we could - wanting to tell our families before anyone. Occasionally it was a little too tempting for some (ahem, Tony)....fine, me too, and the news slipped a couple of times.
We wanted to wait until after Thanksgiving - to let family know - our holiday festivities can be a little nuts, and not always the best time to break out big news. But we were able to tell all of our parents and family - and I honestly don't know who was more excited.
So how did we break the big news? Well we gave a picture of me holding our first sonogram to Tony's Dad and Stepmom - which they now proudly have up in their house. After getting a hard time from Tony's Mom - asking what seemed like every time when we were going to have some news, we went and visited them and waited until 10 minutes before we left to give them a "treat" from our trip to Napa: a onesie and a sonogram picture. Tears were shed from both parties and for them, it's their first and second grandchild - so they were all pretty excited.
For my parents I needed some assistance. So I let the cat out of the bag to my sister - and if you know her, then you know how hard it was for her to keep her mouth shut! But she did a great job and it was so nice for her to know - especially since I needed someone to bounce ideas off of.
My plan included all my little monkey nephews - all six of them on our side. Luckily my Mom had planned to take their Christmas card picture which included outfit changes. And that night, dinner included spaghetti sauce. To share our news, I decided to have the boys all wear the numbers 1 through 6 to show their birth order and for me, lucky #7 on mine.
We quickly grabbed the boys for an outfit change before dinner - and for once all of them were more than happy to run upstairs - and switched them into their numbered shirts. Oh and we needed a third set of hands for all those boys...so we grabbed my SIL Alison, who was more than happy to help.
Sorry - I realized this is getting long...oh well, there is a video coming.
The boys all lined up - they are all into line leading and taking turns....thank you preschool! So it was pretty easy - and no coaching was needed to get them to show Nana & Gampa. What we didn't know was that Nana & Gampa were in two different rooms...oh well.
Tony was set up filming on the iPad and what you don't hear is Lucas saying "come on guys, let's have a parade!" Um, perfect Luca - you get all the treats in the world!
So here was the big reveal - sorry for the shakiness...blame Tony, he was trying not to be obvious...kind of.
(And thanks to my Dad for counting out the numbers...not planned...also not planned, him not seeing my number 7 for a good 45 seconds because he was too busy talking to Baby Graham)
So the news is out - and since this is getting rather long...I'll post more about Baby Meatball later. But here is to 2013 - it will be an exciting year for our little growing family!
So I've been behind on my Project 365 - and while I was organizing my pictures, I also noticed there were a few days that I missed. Whoops. But here is what I have for July & August. Surprisingly I hit almost every day - a little pat on the back for me.
Maybe when I do it again next year, I'll have every day done....and maybe just one picture per day and not three or four.
